Chris Blancato started The Bearded Bowtie in his LA apartment in January 2014. He started by using reclaimed wood, recycling from salvage yards, and trying his hand at marquee lights. Always having had a passion for woodworking and design, he found his niche in live edge tables through a series of chance circumstances.
One of his first customers requested he use a raw wood slab, and a local wood vendor’s liquidation sale made the request a reality. He quickly fell in love with the natural beauty and show-stopping factor of live edge. Over the past several years, he has become an expert in the industry with unparalleled customer service and devotion to making the most unique and heirloom-worthy pieces. The Bearded Bowtie is now a house-hold name not only in San Diego, but also around the world.
